Cyril Alphonsus Martin

1893 - 1957

Cyril Martin was born in Wellington, and trained as an architect before serving as a Lance Sergeant in the 41st Reinforcements H Company in WWI. After his discharge he worked as an assistant to architect James Bennie until 1926. In 1927 he set up his own practice and designed houses in Wadestown, Roseneath and Khandallah, along with commercial buildings on Manners Street and Courtenay Place.
