Charles Alexander Lawrence
1873 - 1933
Charles Lawrence worked in Aberdeen, Scotland from 1890 and moved to New Zealand in 1895. He worked for Thomas Turnbull until mid-1897 before moving to the Public Works Department Architectural Branch. He worked for Penty & Blake from 1907 and became a partner when Edward Blake left the practice in 1909. After Francis Penty died in 1919, Lawrence joined Swan & Swan and remained a partner at Swan, Lawrence & Swan until his death in 1933.
