William Meek Page
1881 - 1953
William Page was born in Edinburgh and started a practice in Perth, Scotland designing churches, schools and houses. He moved to New Zealand in 1907 and worked for Thomas Turnbull & Son until 1909 and Atkins & Bacon until 1913. He set up a practice with George Robb in 1914 as Robb & Page and later established his own practice. His work includes a number of fine houses in wealthy middle-class suburbs of Karori, Wadestown, Thorndon, Roseneath and Oriental Bay, along with apartments, commercial buildings, a church and a film studio. His later work included the restoration of the Treaty House at Waitangi.
