“The Johnsonville Methodist Cemetery


The Johnsonville Methodist Church occupied this site on Johnsonville Road. Built in 1846, the church serviced the area north of Wellington. The cemetery was at the rear of the church property. In1970, when the Methodist Church became part of the Johnsonville Uniting Church, the land was sold and the church was demolished in 1973.


Many early Johnsonville settlers, residents and descendants are buried in this cemetery.


Further information is deposited at the Johnsonville Library or at the Terrace Centre, 18 Dr Taylor Terrace.”
