    • The building at 31 Vivian Street has had a number of occupants and uses since the time of its construction in 1895, and plays an important role in the Vivian streetscape, a physical reminder of the residential history of the area.

This two-storey Italianate building was constructed in 1895 and the owner and applicant for the construction was Alfred Greenwood. Little is known about the owners and occupants of this house. By 1908 the house was occupied by a Mrs Duncan, a dressmaker, who operated her business from the residence. By the 1970s the building was occupied by the Salvation Army, and was used as a boarding house as a part of The Bridge Programme Assessment and Classification Centre, a drug and alcohol addiction programme.  By the 2000s the building had changed use again and was occupied by the ‘La Mirage’ massage parlour until c.2012. It has since been sold.
